Aquatic Drone (USV)

Fluidion USV solution can provide rapid pollution assessment and mapping in rivers, reservoirs, lakes and coastal waters. It sends real-time GPS-tagged water quality data in real time, and allow for rapid pollution source identification.

Fluidion’s automated ALERT system enabled us to demonstrate consistently low or non-detectable levels of E. Coli in Lake Chelan. Slight increases were typically associated with spring or summer runoff events or the impacts of waterfowl during late summer. We now use the ALERT Lab system to spot-check for hot spots and to help orchardists assess E. Coli levels in irrigation water. Fluidion staff were always ready to help us get the data we needed.

The Fluidion ALERT-lab is very quick and easy to use. Our small team of citizen scientists have been able to take almost daily samples for 7 months. We have the process down to less than half an hour! This is the first study taking such frequent samples in our area and we are learning a lot about the water quality at our local beach. Swim The Wight CIC is a social enterprise that takes people into the sea year round by providing supported and supervised swimming sessions and hence need to know the quality of the water so we can make informed decisions. The Fluidion ALERT LAB equipment is easy to use and with their collaboration and support from both the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and Southern Water we have been able to test the water daily beyond the Environment Agency schedule and whenever we decide, with no restrictions imposed!
